Creation Myths Revisited

I was just listening to one of my favorite podcasts, Studio 360, and my good friend Kurt announced a Creation Myth contest they are sponsoring.  The contest is inspired by the new book Significant Objects which asked authors to write stories about objects that were originally bought in thrift stores.  The objects were then resold on ebay accompanied by their story.  When the objects had a story attached their value greatly increased. The Studio 360 contest asks writers to create a story around one of the three objects that Kurt Anderson and Rob Walker purchased at Vintage Thrift in Manhattan.  The story should be no more than 500 words and the winner will win the object.  We talked at one point about creating our own myths about the creation of night school.  Maybe night school started because of a curiosity around a creepy doll?
